Abstract

- The New Normal rules appear in human interactivity in order to adjust all aspects of life such as changes in people activity when traveling out of the house, and doing business are without exception. Therefore, businesspeople are trying to adjust and adapt their business to the pandemic situation, to survive while declining condition cannot be avoided. One of sector that has been severely affected to the COVID-19 virus phenomenon is the wedding organization business that is obliged to face cancelations and postponement due to the uncertainty circumstances. The needs to celebrate weddings and traditional rituals by Indonesian families that require close interaction should be minimized. The problem encountered has been mostly how to reduce interactions in the most interactive wedding ceremony that is challenging for the organizer. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse changes and adjustments to wedding arrangements during the pandemic. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a narrative approach which data collection techniques are through observations and in-depth interviews and secondary data such as news related to the topic of research. The key informants are wedding organizer entrepreneurs and wedding planning teams having survived by applying innovation into their services. The findings of the study are the needs to always get updates of the current market situation, being flexible, creative, and communicative in the process of organizing weddings. The emergence of several new products and services required for weddings creates new business opportunities for wedding organizers as well as vendors
