Abstract
Penyerapan tenaga kerja merupakan faktor pendukung produktivitas dan menjadi perhatian yang signifikan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Toko Lafino yang mengalami permasalahan mengenai penyerapan tenaga kerja. Dalam penelitian ini, penyerapan tenaga kerja sebagai variabel dependen dinilai dipengaruhi oleh profitabilitas sebagai variabel independen. Variabel independen dalam penelitian ini dianggap dipengaruhi oleh bahan baku, biaya upah, biaya overhead, dan persaingan pasar. Data mengenai faktor-faktor ini dikumpulkan dari Toko Lafino dan kemudian dibandingkan dengan Toko A, Toko B, Toko C, Toko D, Toko E, Toko F, Toko G, Toko H, Toko I. Pengolahan data menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan membandingkan variabel-variabel di seluruh toko yang dijadikan sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa profitabilitas memengaruhi kebijakan penyerapan tenaga kerja dalam industri konveksi skala kecil hingga menengah. Meskipun demikian, keputusan untuk mempekerjakan tenaga kerja tambahan tetap tunduk pada kebijakan spesifik masing-masing bisnis konveksi.
