Abstract
Jakarta menempati urutan pertama dengan perekonomian terbesar di Indonesia mencapai 16,95% pada tahun 2015 (Jefriando, 2017). Namun akibat Covid-19, seluruh sektor perekonomian Indonesia termasuk Jakarta mengalami kontraksi minus 5,32% (Umah, 2020). Salah satu sektor yang paling berpengaruh adalah sektor ritel, terutama pusat perbelanjaan yang hanya menyediakan makanan dan kebutuhan pokok selama pandemi. Akibatnya, para tenant memutuskan untuk berhenti dan pusat perbelanjaan tersebut mengalami penurunan pendapatan sebesar 77% (Petriella, 2020). Fenomena penutupan ritel terjadi karena telah memberikan dampak yang signifikan dan telah mengalami financial distress atau telah memasuki situasi kebangkrutan (Fajar Ramdani et al., 2021). Hal ini terjadi karena pada masa pandemi masyarakat lebih memilih pergi ke ruang terbuka (Petriella, 2021), namun di pusat perbelanjaan tidak ada ruang publik atau ruang terbuka sehingga masyarakat takut terkena virus (Ekarina, 2020). Permasalahan yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah pusat perbelanjaan tidak dapat beradaptasi dengan era prapandemi karena desainnya yang tertutup dan tidak adanya kegiatan yang menjamin 24 jam. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pengembangan desain ritel dengan penerapan placemaking pada parameter kegunaan dan aktivitas agar masyarakat dapat melakukan berbagai aktivitas di pusat perbelanjaan yang aktif hingga 24 jam. Selain bisa membuat orang memulai aktivitas di luar, juga bisa membuat pusat perbelanjaan kembali ramai pengunjung.
