Abstract
Pandemi global yang telah terjadi pada awal tahun 2020 telah mengubah industri pariwisata secara menyeluruh. Hal ini telah memberikan dampak yang mengejutkan pada sector-sektor global, terutama retail, pariwisata dan perhotelan. Dengan adanya PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar), serta banyakanya perjalanan udara yang ditutup membuat industri pariwisata mengalami penutupan serta pengurangan signifikan dari marketnya. Keadaan ini menyebabkan suatu pandemi yang disebut depresi pariwisata. Terdapat beberapa penyebab dari bencana pariwisata, seperti bencana alam (gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir dan kebakaran hutan), sebab-sebab politik (perang, eleksi, demonstrasi), sebab-sebab ekonomis (turunnya pasar modal, resesi ekonomi) dan dalam kasus yang ingin dibahas penulis merupakan global pandemi. Namun, penulis ingin membahas tentang sektor hotel chain dalam menghadapi depresi pariwisata. Dalam kasus ini, penulis ingin mengkaji kasus InterContinental Fujairah Resort sebagai resor yang terkenal dan baru di Fujairah, Uni Emirat Arab.
